Police say a 53-year-old woman is in critical condition this morning after she was hit by a car on Washington Avenue in Albany last night.

The crash happened just outside the University at Albany campus around 5:15 p.m.

Police didn’t say if the woman was in the road, on a sidewalk, or in a crosswalk.

Officers found the victim and she was taken to the hospital. The driver of the car stayed at the scene. Police say their investigation is on going.
