HVCC hosts event to get young girls interested in STEM careers

Dozens of girls got a look at different areas of science and technology on Saturday.
Hudson Valley Community College in Troy hosted the annual Girls in STEM event.
There was a keynote speaker, and the girls also did some hands-on activities.
They took part in interactive workshops that are designed to help get them interested and excited about the possibility of going into science and technology-based careers.
This year, they had almost 200 girls in 4th through 8th grade register.
