There was a nice surprise Friday for a boy in Saratoga County whose mother is battling breast cancer.

A member of the Kelly’s Angels volunteer board of directors paid a visit to Nehamiah at Stillwater High School on Friday.

The boy was supposed to go to Disney later this year for the senior class trip, but money has been tight since his mom’s diagnosis, and he wouldn’t be able to go.

Board member Tara D’Aloia let him know that when Kelly’s Angels heard about it, they voted to pay for the trip and some spending money.

Kelly’s Angels helps children in the Capital Region who’ve lost a parent to cancer, or families who are currently battling. It was started by NewsChannel 13’s Mark Mulholland in honor of his wife, Kelly, who died of cancer.
