Lansingburgh gets funding help from state to deal with teacher shortage
The Lansingburgh School District has been awarded new funding to deal with its ongoing teacher shortage.
The New York State Education Department’s “Teachers of Tomorrow” Program will provide funds for Lansingburgh to offer incentives to prospective teachers.
New teachers will get nearly $3,500 per year in their first four years in the school district as well as tuition reimbursement.
The incentives will also be offered to current teachers of high-need subjects.
