All students are now back in the Niskayuna Central School District.

The district serves more than 4,300 students in Niskayuna, Clifton Park, Colonie, and Glenville.

Principal John Rickert said one thing the community is so proud of and never takes for granted is that the

Niskayuna School District has consistently been ranked one of the best public-school districts in the Capital Region.

“It’s a tremendous source of pride, not only for me, but our staff and for our community, and our kids believe in that, too,” said John Rickert, the high school principal. “When they walk in, they know that this place is special. I enjoy being a part of that. Like I said, it’s just a tremendous privilege.”

Voters in the district approved a $47.17 million capital project, earlier this year. It includes upgrades and renovations to all eight school buildings.

Nearly 70% of the project is being funded by the state.

Construction is scheduled to be to begin next year, and the goal is to have it finished by 2028.
