BENTLEYVILLE, Pa. – A quick thinking teen is being called a hero, after using a trampoline to help people escape a three-alarm apartment fire near Pittsburgh early Tuesday morning.
Shortly after the fire broke out around 1:00 Tuesday morning, 17-year-old Fallon O’Regan jumped from a window, and sprang into action.
He and his neighbor moved the trampoline from the side of the house to the three bedrooms on the last part of the building.
Neighbors uneasy about the jump took the plunge knowing they didn’t have much of a choice.
One person hurt their leg, and three others went to the hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation.
However, without the quick-thinking teenager’s resourcefulness, the outcome could have been a lot worse.
The Red Cross is now helping 12 adults and six kids.
