Rensselaer middle schoolers to attend anti-bullying program

Rensselaer school students will spend Valentine's Day with some superheroes. The Sweethearts & Heroes program will visit middle schoolers. The goal is to prevent bullying by teaching students how to be compassionate and show empathy.

The Sweethearts & Heroes program will visit middle schoolers. The goal is to prevent bullying by teaching students how to be compassionate and show empathy.
The program was founded by Tom Murphy, of Saint Albans, Vermont.
He is joined by retired U.S. Army Sergeant Rick Yarosh, a motivational speaker who was severely wounded in Iraq.
They also have started offering training to educators and high school students on how to implement the program.
The program has been around for 16 years.
