Schalmont students witness eclipse in person
A group of Schalmont students saw Monday’s total solar eclipse in person.
About 140 eighth through 12th graders took a field trip to Paul Smith’s College in Franklin County. That’s the last county on the Northway, just below the Canadian border.
The students learned about the science of the eclipse and took some great digital photos.
Teachers began planning the trip last year.
The students were enrolled in various subjects including Earth science, environmental science, physics, digital photography, human biology, and some were from the Science Honor Society.
