With kids home from school for the summer, many parents have a lot more on their plates.
From day camps to sports leagues, and their own jobs, it can all be overwhelming. While it may feel like there is so much to do every day, doctors are urging parents to not overextend themselves.
While it’s good to have a broad plan for the summer, a good tip is to take things week-by-week, Dr. Dawn Potter, a psychologist with Cleveland Clinic, said. Feeling pressured to stick to a certain schedule can cause stress, and parents shouldn’t feel bad asking for help, Potter added.
If you notice your stress and anxiety are not getting better with time, doctors urge you to speak with a mental health professional.
