Pre-suspension hearing begins for Triple Crown horse trainer Baffert

The New York Racing Association’s pre-suspension hearing on Triple Crown horse trainer Bob Baffert was beginning on Monday, with opening statements being delivered.

Baffert is accused of engaging in conduct detrimental to thoroughbred racing or potentially harmful to the health and safety of horses or riders.

According to NYRA, this conduct warrants suspension of Baffert’s right to engage in any racing-related activity at all NYRA properties, including Aqueduct, Belmont Park and Saratoga Race Course.
