An annual event today in Loudonville hopes to bring awareness to the devastation of addiction and the hope that recovery can bring.
The 7th annual Addiction Awareness Memorial Run kicked off today at The Crossings in Colonie.
Proceeds from the event will be donated to the Addictions Care Center of Albany, the Schenectady YWCA, and Friends of Recovery in Albany.
The goal of the event is to bring attention to the current epidemic of substance use disorder that is sweeping the country. This is done, of course, while reducing the stigma associated with the disease as well as providing education and awareness.
