Pleasantdale firefighters to raise money for family of young drowning victim

PLEASANTDALE – The Pleasantdale Fire Department will be raising money on Thursday for the family of a 3-year-old boy who drowned.

The fire department will go up and down streets and collect money on New Turnpike and River Road.

The Rensselaer County sheriff says the 3-year-old boy went missing on Easter and was found unresponsive in a swimming pool on Oakhurst Street.

Police are calling the death an accidental drowning.
