Rensselaer police keeping close eye on seatbelt use for Memorial Day Weekend

The Rensselaer Police Department is starting the “Click It or Ticket” campaign this weekend.

In anticipation of Memorial Day weekend, officers will be out enforcing seatbelt laws and educating people on the safety of wearing seat belts.

The "Buckle Up New York" campaign will start this Sunday, May 22 through June 5.

The department wants to remind drivers to always wear your seat belt, never drink and drive, and to stay safe behind the wheel.
