Multiple businesses vandalized in random shooting

A man sits in jail, facing multiple felony charges after shooting several businesses in Colonie over the weekend.

23 year old Christopher Huck picture was captured inside of Uncle Sam’s Health Food.

Lt. Dan Belles say he broke through and fired his gun. Other businesses he shot at include Gulf and New County Lexus. “It definitely is senseless. It doesn’t seem like there’s much rhyme or reason to why this person did what they did," he said.

Belles says six cars were damaged inside the dealership, and says estimated cost could be tens of thousands dollars to repair. "We’re lucky that no one was inside these businesses when this happened so we’re lucky just property damage was done.”

Huck was caught with a 22 caliber handgun and a 7.62 caliber rifle, Lt. Belles says the weapons were stolen from a family member. "We believe there was additional ammo available to him, but we don’t’ know what he had available to him that night. So we don’t know if he used everything he had that night and that’s why he stopped," he said.

Lt. Belles says Huck drove all the way from Bolton in Warren County to Latham. They were able to identify Huck when a surveillance camera snapped a picture of his vehicle.

He’s now being held at the Albany County jail.
