The state of emergency was first declared in January, because of a shortage of highway employees.
The town says without those employees, it cannot keep the roads safe and in passable condition.

Friday, that state of emergency was extended 30 days, saying the issue still exists.
The town is coordinating with nearby towns, the county, and the state, to get highway services if the need arises.
