Bethlehem giving volunteer first responders tax exemption

The town of Bethlehem is working to expand support for first responders.

The Town Board on Wednesday approved a property tax exemption for volunteer firefighters and ambulance workers.

It follows the Bethlehem Central School District’s approval of a partial school property tax exemption for volunteer EMS workers.

The exemption will equal 10% of the assessed value of the property.
