Woman locked down in Albany Med room with grandfather who just died

What was already a nightmare turned even more emotional for one Coxsackie family at Albany Medical Center, after they were told it wasn’t safe to leave the hospital on Monday afternoon.

Rebecca Speenburgh and her family were at the hospital to say their goodbyes to her grandfather.

That goodbye was painfully prolonged after they were locked down inside her grandfather’s room after he passed.

The family said they got through the situation by keeping a sense of humor and trying to get through the emotional roller coaster as best they could.
