Chinese Community Center prepares to celebrate 50th anniversary

Preparations are underway for a celebration of the Chinese Community Center in Latham.

Rehearsals for the community center’s 50th anniversary took place this weekend.
They are celebrating their anniversary next month with a performance by the Peking Opera Academy.
The Peking Opera is a unique type of art – with vocal parts, fighting parts, unique makeup, and unique costumes.
We were there for a rehearsal, at the Chinese Martial Arts Academy in Latham.

The performance will take place on May 20 at Key Hall at Proctor’s in Schenectady.
