Man pleads guilty to illegal firearm charge

A 19-year-old from Mechanicville will be heading off to prison after pleading guilty to carrying an illegal firearm.

Tyler Burns admitted to having an illegal firearm last year in the area of 459 Hudson Avenue in Albany, the Albany County DA’s office said.
He plead guilty to planning to use that firearm against another person.
Burns is scheduled for sentencing in October.
He faces 9 years in prison, followed by 5 years of probation.
