Delmar woman found dead in lake

A 71-year-old Delmar woman was found dead in Thompson’s Lake, investigators said.

The woman was reported missing on Sunday.

Sheriff’s deputies were called to the lake Tuesday to check on an unoccupied vehicle that had been parked in the area since Sunday evening.

After learning that the car was registered to the missing woman, deputies began searching and found her body in Thompson’s Lake, close to the shore.

There are no signs of foul play, the sheriff’s office said.

An autopsy is scheduled for a later date.
