Elevated lead found in water of some Troy homes

Tests in Troy show elevated levels of lead in the water of dozens of homes, city officials said.

The tests were done at dozens of homes. They also indicate the source of the water came back lead-free.

The city thinks water service lines or interior plumbing are the cause.

They are committed to removing all lead pipes in the area, a city spokesperson said.

They also recommend residents run their water a few minutes before using it, and also said that boiling your water will not remove lead.
