Albany man faces weapons, drug charges
Police arrested an Albany man Tuesday on weapon and drug charges.
At about 7:15 p.m., detectives from the Albany Police Department’s Community Response Unit attempted to stop 21-year-old Sincere Cancer in the area of Trinity Place and Ashgrove Place in reference to an ongoing investigation.
Police said as detectives approached Cancer, he ran from them but was quickly caught. He had a loaded 9mm handgun and a quantity of crack cocaine in his possession, according to a news release.
Cancer was charged with three counts of criminal possession of a weapon and two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance. He was arraigned in Albany City Criminal Court and sent to the Albany County Jail.
