Albany Motel 6 security guard shot

ALBANY- A security guard for the Motel 6 on Watervliet Ave Ext. is recovering after he was shot.

Police say around 10 p.m. Saturday night, a male suspect entered the motel lobby, approached the counter with a handgun and demanded cash, which an employee complied.

The 46-year-old security guard then followed the suspect across the parking lot. That’s when the suspect shot him in the abdomen.

The victim was transported to Albany Med with non-life threatening injuries.

Police say the suspect was described as a black male wearing black clothing.

No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.
