The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends that everyone 6 months and older get the annual flu vaccine.

Flu cases typically start ramping up in October and peak between December and February. Along with younger kids, people with chronic diseases like diabetes and asthma are more at risk.

Doctors say that kids can get the flu and spread it to their parents. The more people who are immunized, the lower rates of flu there will be.

“Kids can also get the flu and spread it to their parents. The more people who are immunized, the lower rates of flu we’ll have.”

Doctors say it’s safe for kids to get the flu shot at the same time as other seasonal vaccines.
