Angie Graziano of Slingerlands is hoping her story will help encourage others to stay up to date on their mammograms.

She was diagnosed with Stage 2 breast cancer on Feb. 3 – days before her 41st birthday.

Graziano felt fine physically. She didn’t suspect anything was wrong.

The cancer was found during a routine mammogram and ultrasound. However, Graziano’s quick to admit the checkup was 6 months later than it should have been.

Graziano underwent a lumpectomy and chemotherapy.

She’ll receive therapy for the next five years, all while hoping any future imaging comes back negative.
