Community gathers to honor Samantha Humphrey in vigil Saturday evening
The community gathered together in Schenectady on Saturday evening for a vigil honoring Samantha Humphrey.
Dozens gathered in Schenectady on Saturday evening to mark nearly a year after Samantha Humphrey’s disappearance gripped the Capital Region.
The 14-year-old went missing along the Mohawk River on Nov. 26, 2022. Her body was found in the river 3 months later and her death ruled a homicide. People crowded Riverside Park and used their cell phone lights to bring attention to the case and remember Samantha.
Humphrey’s father recently posted billboards in Schenectady offering a reward for information leading to the arrest of the person responsible for his daughter’s death.
There is a $10,000 reward for information. The family is using a GoFundMe to pay for the billboards that now sit along Erie Boulevard, which has already raised $3,600.
