Gov. Cuomo says the answer to youth gun violence across the state begins with putting kids to work.
Cuomo has been making announcements in violence hotspots around the state that he’s creating hundreds of jobs designed to keep at risk youth aged 15 to 24 off the streets and employed this summer.
Cuomo says the state will work to connect at-risk youth 18 to 24 years old to good paying, permanent jobs.
He identified those areas in the Capital Region Wednesday and how many jobs will be available.
Pastor Charlie Muller with Victory Christian Church believes putting kids to work has merit. He has some experience heading up similar programs.
"I think it’s going to be a real win to start helping bring back some of these neighborhoods," said Muller.
