Details affecting local, regional and national news events of the day are provided by the NewsChannel 13 Team, as well as updates on weather and traffic.
A Long Lake resident is charged with murder for allegedly killing a relative during a domestic incident.
Patrick B. Skerrett, 65, is accused of killing Terrance J. Skerrett, 64, of Lewis, on Saturday.
State Police were called to a Deerland Road home around 2:40 a.m. Sunday for a report of a man who died from gunshot wounds. An autopsy confirmed it was a homicide.
The preliminary investigation determined that the men got into a verbal fight and Patrick Skerrett fired a gun. The victim was hit in the head and abdomen.
Patrick Skerrett was arraigned in the Town of Long Lake Court and remanded to the Hamilton County Jail without bail. Police didn’t say how the two are related.
This case remains under investigation by the State Police and the Hamilton County District Attorney’s Office.
