Pittsfield police investigating home invasion
PITTSFIELD, M.A.- A home invasion is under investigation in Pittsfield.
Police say at approximately 6:30 p.m. Friday, officers responded to 18 Broad Street for a report of a home invasion involving two masked, armed individuals.
Upon arrival, officers saw one of the possible suspects run back into the apartment.
The person who lived in the apartment was able to get out and alerted police that there were two other people in the apartment before the armed suspects entered. Police were unable to contact or locate these individuals, resulting in them considering the incident as a hostage situation.
At 8 p.m., two men exited the apartment and were taken into custody for questioning. Another person believed to be in the apartment at the time of the incident was treated for a facial injury.
Police say this was not a random incident and there is no threat to the public.
