Kevin Monahan, the man convicted of shooting and killing a woman who was a passenger in a car that turned around in his driveway, might soon be telling his story to the producers of an A&E show.

Monahan, who a jury found guilty of murdering Kaylin Gillis, has been approached by producers of “Accused: Guilty or Innocent.”

Monahan maintained his innocence throughout the trial, testifying that he tripped on a nail on his deck, banging the gun against the rail and causing it to fire the fatal shot.

The jury rejected that notion and Judge Adam Michelini sentenced him to 26 and a third years to life in prison.

As Monahan, 66, serves his sentence at Wende Correctional Facility near Buffalo, producers of the show are seeking transcripts and recordings from the trial. Monahan’s attorney, Arthur Frost, told NewsChannel 13 that his client will decide if the show goes forward and if it does, Monahan is likely to participate in recorded interviews with the show’s producers.

A&E’s promotional material describes the show this way:

Monahan is appealing the jury verdict.
