Man hit, killed by train in North Adams

The death of a 40-year-old man hit by a train in North Adams is under investigation.

The man was hit near the American Legion late Tuesday morning, according to the Berkshire County District Attorney’s Office.

The victim has been identified as Douglas Hawley of North Adams.

The District Attorney’s Office, who is investigating the incident, said the train was traveling at a low speed when it hit Hawley.
