The former town supervisor of Prattsville, Greene County has pleaded guilty to federal charges related to misusing hurricane relief funding.
Kory O’Hara admitted that between 2013 and 2015, he obtained false invoices and fraudulently claimed thousands of dollars in grants for repairs to his personal business.
He had a gas station in town, but the repairs were never done.
The grant money was supposed to help the town rebuild after Hurricane Irene caused major damage to Prattsville in 2011.
O’Hara faces up to 20 years in prison and a maximum fine of $250,000. He’ll also be required to pay $25,000 in restitution.
