The family of Brock Pynes, a 19-year-old Essex County Sheriff’s Department officer killed in a motorcycle crash in North Hudson, is now promoting motorcycle safety.

It comes after several fatal crashes this summer.

The Governor’s Traffic Safety Committee joined Pynes’ family at the Clifton Park Northway rest stop to warn others about being safe.

“I am urging every motorist, drivers and motorcycle riders alike to remember we all share the road and we all shoulder responsibility of keeping motorcycles safe,” said Mark J.F. Schroeder, with the Governor’s Traffic Safety Committee. “For drivers, sharing the road starts with simply remembering to watch out for motorcycles.”

Pynes was also honored at the event.
