180 guns were collected on Saturday at a gun buyback event in Amsterdam, according to the State Attorney General’s Office.

This event was part of an effort to get illegal guns off the streets.

The weapons people brought in include 17 assault weapons, 100 handguns, and 47 long guns.

Attorney General Letitia James says more than 7,500 guns have been collected from communities in New York since she took office in 2019.
