Two Capital Region companies have a shot at winning $150,000 by presenting their creations.

AlbaNYlabs and IsoGuardian are two finalists in the FuzeHub Commercialization Competition.

FuzeHub is a nonprofit group that supports small and medium-sized manufacturing companies across New York state.

AlbaNYlabs invented a COVID test that only creates a positive result when the patient is still contagious. IsoGuardian created a reusable hospital gown that the developers said is significantly more comfortable and safer.

“So, this gown has a very special laminate and a special manufacturing process that allows it to be very light, very breathable while also being cost-effective and safe,” said Sara Rudin, of IsoGuardian.

The winner of the competition will be announced the weekend of Oct. 28 in Syracuse.
