GE Aerospace announces big layoffs in Schenectady

GE Aerospace will lay off more than 70 employees.

That’s according to a new WARN notice that was filed.

According to the notice, it will impact nearly 50% of the employees who work at the Schenectady facility.

A total of 72 employees will be laid off out of the 152 employees who work there.

NewsChannel 13 reached out to GE Aerospace. The layoffs will go into effect on December 31, they said.

All employees have been notified, they said.

GE announced back in 2022 it would split into three companies to focus on aviation, healthcare, and energy.
