A local high school athlete has been nominated for a special honor.

Daaron Harrell of Albany High is a nominee for USA Football’s Heart of a Giant Award.
You may remember, Daaron was highlighted as our Big Board Sports Athlete of the Week, just last week.

The award goes out to a person for their commitment, teamwork, will, character, and dedication. All nominees were picked by their coaches.

Daaron’s coach says what was inspiring to him was Daaron’s willingness to stay committed to the team even after injury.

The award winner and their coach will be honored on the field at a future New York Giants game this season.
