Whitehall seeks second water source
Whitehall officials are looking into a secondary source of water.
Mayor Francis Putorti told NewsChannel 13 that the Village Board on Tuesday discussed the ongoing issues that have plagued the village.
Pine Lake, the village’s water source, was shut down completely for several days as engineers tried to figure out why the lake level had dropped 14 feet. The village installed a new pump, but residents are still being asked to conserve water.
Putorti said there is enough water for about fie or six months. The village hopes to obtain another source before that and he is hoping for a wet winter.
Putorti said he has been in contact with the Governor’s Office to seek funding an expected to meet with them after the holidays.
He is urging residents not to worry about the issue.
