Christmas morning fire forces 32 people from Clifton Park apartment building
Thirty-two people were forced from their home on Christmas morning, after a fire in Clifton Park.
The fire broke out at an apartment building on Huntridge Drive around 2:45 a.m., the Red Cross said.
The fire was quickly put out, according to firefighters. The damage was mostly contained to an uninhabited apartment and a maintenance/utility room below that apartment. However, an electrical panel was badly damaged, and the building has no power.
A total of 32 people, including 29 adults, three kids and several pets were forced to leave for now. One person was taken to a hospital for smoke inhalation.
The Red Cross is now working to help the victims with shelter, food, clothing and health services.
