Second person dies in Montgomery County crash

A second person has died in a crash in Montgomery County from over the weekend. 

Police on Thursday released more information about the incident.

Deputies responded to a crash on Hessville Road in Minden on Saturday, Jan. 18 just before 1:30 p.m. The vehicle struck two people that were repairing a mailbox, according to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.

James Randall, 41, of Fort Plain, died at the scene.

Shawn Clemons, 40, of also of Fort Plain, was seriously injured and taken to the hospital. He died on Jan. 20.

The 82-year-old driver remains in the hospital. 

The crash remains under investigation.
