Saratoga Springs Police investigating why five students became ill at culinary class

Saratoga Springs Police are trying to figure out why five people in a high school culinary class got sick at the same time today.
It happened at the WSWHE BOCES Center on Henning Road. Paramedics showed up and brought two of the students to Saratoga Hospital. Three others were treated on scene. Police believe that the illness was contained to people who were in the Culinary Department eating food prepared by students.
A police source tells NewsChannel 13 that they haven’t ruled this out as “an intentional act.” Police Lt. Paul Veitch, the department’s spokesman, said he can’t comment on exactly what happened, but police are asking anyone with information to contact them.
Investigators are working with BOCES and fire officials to determine the cause of the illness.
Anyone with information is asked to call 518-584-1800.
NewsChannel 13 has also reached out to WSWHE BOCES for comment and we will let you know if we hear back.
