New gender markers for NY driver’s licenses now available online

Gov. Hochul announced a new online process to indicate gender on your driver’s license.

Now, individuals who have a New York state driver’s license, learner’s permit or state ID can choose “X” as a gender marker without visiting DMV.

The change follows an announcement by the governor that New Yorkers can now update their gender marker on their state license or identification.
