The city of Pittsfield water use will look differently than what residents are used to.
The Mayor’s office announced a mandatory water restriction conservation starting on Monday.
Pittsfield has entered a level 2 drought stage where their water supply is slowly dwindling.
A stage 2 water drought limits 30% of water production.
To restrict 30% of water activities, the Mayor announced limitations on outside water use.
Watering lawns, gardens, washing vehicles, and filling swimming pools are included in this regulation.
These restrictions will be enforced by the Department of Public Services and Utilities and will include fines for violations.
Now penalties included warning for the first violation; a $50 fine for the second violation; and $300 for any other violations.
