Election Day is right around the corner. A slate of Democratic candidates in the Town of Colonie cast their ballots at the Pin Grove Methodist Church during early voting.

All eyes of the race for Colonie Town Supervisor. The two candidates on the ballot are focusing on key issues like development. They are calling to fix roads and enhance public safety and policing throughout the town.

Democratic candidate, Kelly Mateja, cast her vote Saturday morning.

"Your municipal elections are some of the most important that you’re going to have the opportunity to vote in. Your municipal government takes care of everything, from making sure that you have safe drinking water, to drivable roads, to safe communities….and so there are no off years in democracy, we need everyone to get out and vote. This election is just as important as the even-year ones," said Mateja.

She is running against Republican Peter Crummey. The former Town Supervisor is urging residents in Colonie to get out and vote.

Early voting runs through Sunday. The final day people will have to vote will be on Election Day.
