Family and friends gathered Friday afternoon as the search for Meghan Marohn continues.

Marohn is an English teacher at Shaker High School who has been missing since March 27.

The school held a "Vigil of Hope" for Marohn.

Shaker High School students, faculty and family members of Marohn gathered in the lower courtyard of Shaker High School for the vigil.

"Meghan is my colleague, but she is also my friend," said Rebekah Wilson, an English teacher.

The purpose of the vigil is to keep hope alive for Marohn and to remember the good times they have had with her. Her friends and colleagues say Marohn is creative and someone who cares deeply about her students.

"She is a person who is deeply committed to people and to humanity, and she sees the dignity and the greatness and value in each and every human being," said D. Joseph Corr, the Superintendent of the North Colonie Central School District.

It's been weeks since anyone has seen Marohn. She was last seen on March 27 near Longcope Park in Lee, Massachusetts. The Berkshire Mountain Search and Rescue Team, Massachusetts State Police and Lee Police were searching for her as recently as earlier this week.

"We know where Meghan's car was found, and we know a couple of data points for her cell phone, but besides that, there is nothing else out there," said Peter Naple, brother of Marohn.

Naple spoke at the vigil.

"We don't know whether to grieve. We don't know if there is hope. Is there hope, what is there. We just have to continue to have hope," said Naple.

Naple says he will be meeting with law enforcement again on Wednesday. For those at the vigil, they are praying for her safe return.

"We welcome her back into Shaker High School and that's our hope that she returns safe and ready to have that wonderful impact on all of our lives," said Corr.

Marohn's family is looking into a hiring a private investigator to help with the search.
