Albany fire forces two families from home

ALBANY – Two families are left without a place to stay after a fire early Monday morning.
Firefighters responded at 1 a.m. to 441 Delaware Ave. There was fire on the second floor of the two-family home.
Firefighters were able to knock down the fire quickly.
The cause is under investigation.
Albany Fire Chief Joseph Gregory says two adults and four children on the second floor are displaced, along with an adult and child on the first floor. Thankfully no one was injured.
The chief says smoke detectors were activated.
This week is Fire Prevention Week. Firefighters are reminding people that when you “hear a beep, get on your feet.”
