Albany police kicked off its "Lock It Up" campaign on Monday.

Police say so far this year, 33% of vehicles that were broken into were unlocked. In addition, 55% of stolen cars were also unlocked.

Police remind the public to never leave your keys in the car, and never leave valuable items in plain view.

Police will hand out educational materials to people they see leaving their vehicles running unattended.
