AMSTERDAM – Food insecurity continues to be a problem more than a year a half into the pandemic.
There are still food distribution events happening around the Capital Region.
Beech-Nut Nutrition Company in Amsterdam held its fifth annual "Beech Nut Gives Back" event on Monday.
It’s a drive through event, where volunteers filled boxes with fresh and non-perishable food items in the trunks.
So far this year, Beech-Nut distributed food to more than 1,000 families.
One in four families live at or below the poverty line in the city.
