The New York State Thruway Authority announced earlier this week that the Castleton-on-Hudson Bridge will be closed temporarily.
The closure will affect westbound traffic beginning Monday, November 28th. The bridge connects Albany and Rensselaer counties over the Hudson River. Starting at 5 a.m. all westbound traffic will be redirected toward I-90 west and will be able to reconnect at exits 23 or 24 on the Thruway. Anyone traveling eastbound will not be affected.
The department does warn that this could change depending on weather. The bridge will be closed all week through Friday, December 3rd.
The shutdown is part of a $47.6 million rehabilitation project.
