A husband and wife in Schoharie County are accused of endangering their baby. State police say this investigation started in April 2020.

They were called to the Albany Medical Center ER because of a 7-month-old boy with multiple arm and leg fractures.

That’s when police started interviewing the mother, 19-year-old Desyree Van Alstyne, and her 24-year-old husband, Justin Van Alstyne.

Police say they discovered the two did not take preventative measures to ensure the safety of their son.

They found out Justin caused the arm and leg injuries to the baby.

Justin is charged with assault, and both are charged with endangering the welfare of a child.
